I absolutely loved waking up to the mesmerizing view of morning mists drifting over the dam and the breathtaking sight of the sun painting the cliff faces a vivid blood-orange. It was like a dream come true for a nature lover like me. The largest room was a true gem with its unique terrace featuring a vertical wall garden. This space offered the most incredible mountain views, and the double shower and luxurious bath added a touch of indulgence to my stay. Plus, the heated room made it even better during the chilly nights. The sweeping views of the surrounding grasslands and the majestic Drakensberg Mountains from most of the rooms were simply awe-inspiring. It felt like being in the lap of nature, and it brought a sense of tranquility and peace to my soul. All the rooms were tastefully decorated with bespoke pieces of original furniture, and the soft-to-the-touch luxury bedding made me feel pampered and relaxed. It was a true delight to come back to such a cozy and comfortable retreat after a long day of exploring. Having my own private veranda and direct access to the garden added a touch of privacy and allowed me to soak in the fresh air and beautiful surroundings.
Personally, I found the shower over bath option in some rooms a bit inconvenient. However, I recognize that others might still find enjoyment in it, especially if they prefer a long relaxing soak in the tub.

I absolutely loved the charming decor of Moorcroft Manor. The hotel's general areas were beautifully adorned with original artworks, giving it a touch of elegance and uniqueness. As a senior woman, I greatly appreciated the attention to detail in creating a warm and cozy atmosphere, which made me feel right at home. Additionally, the hotel's accessibility for senior people was excellent. The staff was always ready to assist and ensure that I had a comfortable stay, making it easy for me to navigate the premises.
I would have preferred if the children working there were more attentive to the needs of senior guests. Perhaps they could have been more proactive in offering assistance or anticipating the needs of older individuals.

The setting is absolutely stunning with breathtaking views of the berg. Waking up to such a picturesque sight was mind-blowing. The food and wine provided were of an incredibly high standard, which paired perfectly with the cozy atmosphere of the lounge. Sitting by the fire, sipping on a glass of red wine, and indulging in a cheese board was simply jaw-dropping. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and our baby, allowing us to enjoy our dinner on the patio while our little one peacefully slept in her cot. The attention to detail, from the comfortable beds to the Charlotte Rhys bath products, was super impressive. Moorcroft Manor definitely knows how to create a truly unforgettable experience. We can't wait to come back!

Stunning Mountain Views: Waking up to morning mists rolling in over the dam or the blood-orange glints of the early sun on the imposing cliff faces was like witnessing nature's own work of art.
Delayed Check-In: A minor inconvenience, but the wait at reception upon arrival was longer than expected.

Great view from the room and comfortable beds with fine bed linen. the food at the evening meal was delicious and the ambiance was lovely. the staff were extremely gracious, kind, and friendly, going out of their way to make us feel welcome. the tranquil setting of the hotel was perfect for a relaxing getaway.
Some inexperienced staff and a lack of interaction from the proprietors. It would have been more welcoming to have a warmer greeting and acknowledge guests throughout their stay.
